The liberal left and their quest for multicultural equality are in ascendancy for the moment. They are ecstatic that Barack Obama received the Nobel Peace Prize, essentially for touting the utopia of an America chastised for the hegemony of past transgressions and now a humble participant in the greater international community. As Obama continues to deliver nothing and his dithering further erodes our economy and our national security, he will be heralded by the left and especially by the squishy socialist mentality of Europe, to say nothing of our sworn enemies.
Their jubilance at seeing America finally humbled and subordinated to “international” norms will be short lived however, as our economy becomes that of a third world and we lay bare our defenses to those who wish us not just defeated, but to watch us die a most horrible death.
Our best hope is that the enthusiasm of those who organized and attended Tea Parties, besieged their legislators with phone calls, emails and excoriated them at Townhall meetings prevails in 2010. As for those who now revel in all things Obama and the demise of American exceptionalism, we can only hope that the rational few, if only for a brief moment in time, remove their heads from their nether regions long enough to get a clue.
